Moving between Maps

The set of Process Maps within the Process Library have a number of internal links.

Drill-Downs

You will notice that some activities have a shadow. This is a visual cue that the shape has further information behind it, i.e. a drill-down. A drill-down is a map in which the activity is broken down into more detail: additional activities and deliverables. To view a drill-down map, double click on the activity.

If you want to return to a higher level page, click on the up arrow at the bottom-left of the Node.

Off-Page Connectors

An Off-Page Connector is a device for overcoming the practical limitation of screen sizes. In effect, it enables the process mapper to break a large process into several maps for ease of viewing.

Simply click on the Off-Page Connector to view the next portion of the process. In complex and branching processes, there may be multiple off-page connectors.

Hyperlinks

Process Navigator allows you to link to any external file, launch the Internet or another application from a process map. To achieve this, a process mapper usually adds hyperlinks to a particular shape in a map, such as an Info button. The Triaster Process Map stencil includes the Hyperlink Circle shape for this purpose but the process mapper can add a hyperlink to any shape, including the Info button. The default shapes supplied by Triaster in its Triaster Process Map stencil are shown above.

Feedback E-mail

Similar to a Hyperlink Circle, this shape provides a link for map users to email comments about map usability to a specific email address. The address which is used will be specific to your organisation and can be found in your Process Governance Framework.
